Just decided to leave the city for a few days and go up to the north of Spain, hopefully there is no heavy rain anymore (the streets of Santander have been flooded). Let's see.

Der Spiegel bringt mit seiner Titelstory über "user generated content" und eine Übersicht aktueller web 2.0 Services (angefangen von flickr bis hin zu plazes, eigentlich nix neues dabei) diese Entwicklung auch einem Leser Publikum nahe, die von Technik und Computern nix wissen wollen oder mit ihrem IE und e-mail ganz gut zurechtkommen. Das finde ich sehr gut.

Zwei Empfehlungen von meiner Seite für ein erholsames und angenehmes Sommer Wochenende. Erstens: ein gutes Buch, z.B. der neue Roman von Martin Suter: "Der Teufel von Mailand", hat mir als "Bündner" sehr gut gefallen, auch wenn es nicht seine beste Geschichte ist. Ach ja, zufälligerweise habe ich im Flugzeug eine alte Die Weltwoche ergattert, worin ein ausführliches Interview mit Suter drin ist, Titel: Künstlerglück. Bei der Lektüre erinnerte ich mich auch ab und zu an den Erstling von Silvio Huonder: Adalina, da geht es - wenn auch unter anderen Vorzeichen - um eine (Rück-) Reise nach Graubünden.
Zweitens: Gute Musik - eh klar. Und falls keine Zeit oder keine Lust für ein OpenAir Festival besteht, den abwechslungsreichen Stream "Gurtenfestival Radio" auf dem Rechner starten (wird vom kollaborativen Musikblog Starfrosch betrieben), sehr abwechslungsreich und mit 128kps. Enjoy!

Aufregung bei den spanischen Schülern und spanischen Bloggern: der 18-jährige Iván Fresneda hat in seinem blog öffentlich Kritik geübt, sich über die marode Infrastuktur an der Schule beschwert. Heute Donnerstag wird er verurteilt, berichtet 20minutos (auf der Frontseite der Print Ausgabe).

Eine zweite Geschichte: die (meiner Meinung nach schlecht gestaltete) Seite der Stadt Madrid wurde gestern Mittwoch gehackt. Offizielle Stellen haben verleugnet, dass es auf der Startseite "inoffizielle" Nachrichten und Meinungen über die grösste Baustelle in Madrid, die Untertunnelung der Ringautobahn M-30, zu lesen gibt. Aber dann wurde die Site kurzerhand komplett offline genommen. Auch eine Form des Krisenmanagements...

Gestern Abend kurz nach 20h: ich stecke meine Bankomat / maestro Karte in den Schlitz, wähle die Sprache Deutsch und "Current Account", die PIN Abfrage kommt, ich tippe meine Zahlen ein und bevor ich bestätigen kann... Nix geht mehr! Der Bankomat bzw. der Rechner drinnen hat sich aufgehängt, ich drücke alle möglichen Tastenkombinationen - nix. FU**! Die Karte blieb drinnen.



Da blieb mir nix anderes übrig als die Karte sperren zu lassen, macht EUR 36,- bitte. Heute Vormittag gehe ich wieder zum Automaten, es ist nach wie vor der gleiche Screen, die MitarbeiterInnen der Bank Sabadell Atlantico haben die Probleme offenbar gar nicht bemerkt und sagen nur: ach ja, da war ein Stromausfall. Ich blieb dann eine Weil dort (man darf ja nicht zuschauen wenn sie Geldspender von hinten aufmachen), die Bankomatkarte habe ich nicht zurückbekommen und das Entgelt für die Sperrung werde ich wohl auch selbst tragen müssen.

p.s. heute komme ich bei einem anderen Automaten vorbei, wo eine nicht ehr vertrauenserweckende System Meldung steht "Kernel could not..."

update vom 22. Juni:
Auf erneute telefonische Rückfrage bei Sabadell Atlántico wurde mir versichert, dass meine Karte nun dort in der Filiale sei, aber vom Geldautomaten unbrauchbar gemacht wurde. Na super!

btw: my mother is German, I have a Swiss passport, work for a Austrian company and live in Spain - not easy to understand, I know...

Yesterday I orderd this new book, title: "Naked Conversations : How Blogs are Changing the Way Businesses Talk with Customers" by Robert Scoble and Shel Israel. To give you a short synopsis:
According to these experts, blogs offer businesses something that has long been lacking in their communication with customers meaningful dialogue. Devoid of corporate-speak and empty promises, business blogs can humanize communication, bringing companies and their constituencies together in a way that improves both image and bottom line. Really looking forward to read it next week (maybe it will take me longer than a week...).

Last week I managed to spend an hour and a half in a floating tank - what the hell ist this? you might ask me. City-Yoga in Madrid hast one of this big plastic things with nice warm salty water in it. I just lied inside, closed the lid, closed my eyes and trifted away. so relaxing. would need it right now again. Have a look at floataway.com, american product, how could it be diferent...
